Bluebird Care & Re-engage: Combating Loneliness in Bromsgrove

Recognising this pressing issue, Bluebird Care Bromsgrove & Redditch has partnered with Re-engage, a national charity dedicated to ending loneliness among older people, to host monthly Coffee Afternoons in Bromsgrove. 

Understanding the Impact of Loneliness

Loneliness is more than just a feeling; it’s a public health concern. Studies have shown that social isolation can lead to increased risks of depression, cognitive decline, and even physical health issues. At Bluebird Care, the belief is that everyone deserves companionship, conversation, and a sense of belonging, regardless of age or circumstances.

The Coffee Afternoons Initiative

These monthly gatherings provide a relaxed, welcoming space for older members of the community to enjoy a hot drink, meet new people, and engage in friendly conversation. Held every second Tuesday of the month from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the events are open to all and specifically designed to reach those who may otherwise feel disconnected or alone.

The collaboration between Bluebird Care and Re-engage is founded on a shared mission: to ensure that no one has to face aging alone. By supporting local events like the Coffee Afternoons, they aim to create meaningful moments that make a real difference in people’s lives. 

Extending the Reach to Redditch

Building on the success in Bromsgrove, Bluebird Care is also hosting Re-engage activity sessions in Redditch. These sessions offer older residents a chance to participate in social activities, build friendships, and enjoy engaging experiences in a welcoming environment.
